Home » Life Skills » Ways in Which the Pandemic Is Negatively Affecting the Mental Health of Teens

This pandemic is having a negative affect on pretty much everyone around the world but kids and teens is a population that needs special attention on how the pandemic is affecting them.

Specific ways in which kids and teens are being affected by the pandemic include:

-More socially isolated

-Inability to participate in after school activities (sports, clubs, etc)

-School being all online

-Increased family conflict

-Lack of outlets for stressors

-And many more…

As a parent, it is important to regularly check in with your children to see how they are doing and to see if there is anything that you can do to help.  They may not openly talk to you about it but if you directly ask them, they may be more likely to talk about how they are feeling.

Please remind your children that help is available and that they are not alone!

Please read the attached article to hear one families story with their teenager as well as some valuable resources if you or someone you know if having suicidal thoughts…
