It’s that time of year when many people are graduating. Whether it is from high school, college, or graduate school, graduations mark a new beginning and a new chapter in that persons’ life. Graduation speakers typically offer words of wisdom for the graduates based off their own life experiences and things that they have learned along the way. I investigated some graduation speeches and found what I would consider to be some good things for people to keep in mind when going through their life journeys:
“Don’t let others influence how you feel or what you do. Follow your intuition and have the courage to follow your heart”- Steve Jobs
It’s great to plan for your future. Just don’t live there, because really nothing ever happens in the future. Whatever happens happens now, so live your life where the action is — now. – Jerry Zuchar
“You must have a high threshold for frustration…..You must knock on doors until your knuckles bleed. Doors will slam in your face. You must pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and knock again. It’s the only way to achieve your goals in life.” – Michael Uslan
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously, that you might as well not lived at all.” – JK Rowling
“Ease up on yourselves. Have some compassion for yourself as well as for others. There’s no such thing as perfection…” –Doug Marlette
Can you remember any great words of wisdom from your graduation speaker???
